Which European cities have the best Christmas markets?

Why do you think they are the best?

  1. I hear that Budapest has a nice market in December and since they are not on the euro it is cheap there. We had a great Time there in October. We do not speak Hungarian and everyone was trying to speak english for us. I found the prices there to be better than the prices in Canada.
  2. Zagreb, Croatia. It is a prodomintley Catholic nation and has just been freed from serbian communist rule 15 years ago so religious pride is strong because in communist rule you are not allowed to have a religion. Prices are cheap because the country does not use euros yet and people are very well mannered and intelligent.
  3. I love the markets in Berlin at Christmas. Every neighborhood seems to have one or two. the big one by the operahouse is wonderful...great german christmas decorations and handicrafts, spiced wine, cold weather and atmosphere galore. the Germans really know how to do Christmas and the Christmas markets are awesome!

  5. Vienna and Nurnberg.
  6. Berlin I thought was awesome, they went ALL out during Christmas time. Its famous for its Christmas Markets. There is another place in Scandanavia that is remarkable as well during Christmas time.
