Seattle non-stop flights to European cities?

I see that Air France started non-stop Seattle to Paris service. Are there any other non-stop schedules currently from Seattle to any other European cities by major carriers? If not what about San Francisco; which European cities can you access with a non-stop from San Francisco and on which carriers? Also - is there a website that lists this type of airline routing information?

  2. Well, to start with, it's generally cheaper -- as a rule -- to fly from the U.S. to London, rather than other European cities. So if you just wanted to fly to a European city, London would probably be your best bet. (You could also, of course, take a flight on a low-budget carrier to another European destination once you arrived in London -- check out EasyJet and RyanAir for dirt-cheap prices between European cities. This is actually what I plan to do in September when I visit Italy from San Francisco -- I'm going to fly to London for the weekend, then take a RyanAir flight for around USD$50 to Rome.) That said, British Airways flies non-stop from Seattle and San Francisco to London; for all other European destinations, you have to change (usually in London!) You can also go non-stop to London from San Francisco on Virgin Atlantic. You'll also find that pretty much all of the American carriers can get you to London from either Seattle or San Francisco non-stop. London aside, if you want to go to Amsterdam, you're in luck. KLM and (surprisingly) Northwest fly there non-stop from both Seattle and San Francisco. You already know that Air France runs a non-stop flight from Seattle to Paris, but did you know Delta runs one too? The same is true of San Francisco. And if you're interested in Frankfurt, Lufthansa and United can both get you there non-stop from San Francisco -- I'm afraid you can't get there non-stop from Seattle, though. Should you want to visit Copenhagen, Denmark, you can fly non-stop from Seattle with SAS (Scandinavian Airlines.) Sadly, you can't do the same from San Francisco. Sadly, you're out of luck with flying to Spain or Italy non-stop from Seattle or San Francisco. But hopefully this gives you a FEW options at least!
  3. Vancouver is significantly closer to Seattle than San Francisco - if you are not restricted by immigration, maybe consider flying out of there? I don't know about other airlines but British Airways flies Vancouver-London direct, and as mentioned before also Seattle-London direct. Don't forget that Los Angeles is also an excellent point for picking up intercontinental flights, and also Chicago.
