Best Places to Live near Atlanta Ga?
We are an african american family from Philadelphia considering relocating to Atlanta Ga. Can anyone give us some advice on the best places to live and raise a family in the Atlanta area? Area must have good school system, plenty of things to do within at least a 10-20 mile radius. Also we have 3 teenage boys, so there must be plenty for them to get into in the area. Any advice is appreciated.

- We have lived in Villa Rica for the last 5 years. Its a very diverse decent area to live. Crime is not a big issue. The Carroll Co. schools are very good. Its a growing area, with lots of activities within 25 miles. Six Flags, braves,Falcons, Hawks, world of Coca Cola. Douglas Co. is also about the same, as is Paulding Co. which is the 8th fastest co. in the whole U.S.
- Douglas County is only 12 miles west of downtown ATL on I-20 and is a safe, comfortable suburban area that doesn't have AS MUCH of the rushed, metropolitan feel of Cobb, Fulton, Dekalb, and Gwinett counties. It does border Cobb and Fulton, which has some good public and great private schools to be found within them (ATL city schools suck, though.) I don't know about Douglas Co. schools.
- Live anywhere IN Fulton couinty and you are close to everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Smyrna, Marietta, Decatur, Cascade (area of ATL), Sandy springs
- Roswell, GA was listed as one of the top 10 cities in America last year - it is a northern sub-urb of ATL - about 15 mins from downtown, and about 5 mins from anything you would ever need. I live in Paulding County - which was one of the top 10 fastest growing counties in the Nation over the last few years
- I grew up in Peachtree City, it is a planned community (a golf-cart community too) just south of Atlanta. The schools are good and there are lots of sports to participate in and some shopping cneters to hang out at I really loved it but there are not any good malls in the area.
- College Park, Roswell, Dunwoody, Alpharetta and Decatur Area
