country turism for small cities?

I am think about starting a water park in a small city in the in the countryside. From the point of view of a city's government, what are the benefits?

  1. One of the first and most obvious benefits lies in the tax revenue. Not only would the city charge you for having your business within their limits, but they could also impose a small sales tax on top of the state sales tax. Another benefit is that there will be many jobs created by your park. Not to mention the other business opportunities that would eventually make themselves available, such as fast food restaurants, motels, gas stations and the like. Having such a park could also make a city's case for petitioning the state for extra tax dollars for highway improvement. The county would have to help provide better infrastructure systems such as sewer and water lines, and the utility companies would benefit from the added usage levels. Overall, it would help a city. However, would those who enjoy the quiet life appreciate all of the excitement each season?
