How to apply for jobs in other cities?
I am looking to relocate to an area where I don't know anyone. The trouble is I am not a professional. I am a very capable executive assistant but many companies look to hire someone local for that type of job. I'm afraid my current out of town address will get my resume tossed. If I use a PO Box does that seem to obvious? Anyone got any suggestions?

- This method has worked for me in the past. I get an out of town newspaper and look at the Sunday Classifieds and print them out. For instance if you wanted to move to Las Vegas, you would go online and look up the Las Vegas Review Journal. Always use the Sunday edition because some companies only place ads on Sunday. When you call them up, tell them that you want to relocate to their area, but want a job first. Most companies will hire you on the spot because they needed help or they would not be running that ad. Also ,they will be impressed that you thought to do this, it shows insight and intelligence. Good luck on your relocation.
