Where are the best places for family fun in Florida?

My family and i are going to Florida in May for a week. My husband and i and our two kids 10 and 5. We are going to Disney but don't want to blow all our money there. Any sugestions?

2. My kids loved Universal and the Kennedy Space Center, but that takes money too. We went to Daytona Beach in May with the kids and it was great. The weather was warm, the water was warm, and there were very few people on the beach. And the hotel rates were reasonable. Oh, and if you like racing you can take a tour at the Daytona International Speedway. The tour actually takes you out onto the race track.
3. You could visit other nearby attractions such as Sea World, Universal's Islands of Adventure, Kennedy Space Center, or a fun dinner show: like Medieval Times or Dolly's Dixie Stampede! And a trip to the beach is free - except for some locations where you may need to pay $5 for parking. Cocoa Beach near Kennedy is a top spot for families. Cocoa does get some big surf sometimes - so keep an eye on your kids. Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota is also a great beach and my personal favorite! This beach is on the gulf side and hardly ever gets large waves... perfect for children!
