best places to live

Where are some of the best places to raise a family in Florida, that are not on the coastline?

I am looking for family oriented neighborhoods in Florida that are not too expensive, or not too rural like Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, or Orlando. Does anyone know what Sebring is like, or anywhere nearby? Places that are not highly populated, urban, or the big city life, like Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, or Orlando. Preferrably out of the major cities but close enough for easy access to jobs, etc. THANKS YA'LL!

  1. sebring is in the middle of no where... a little backwoodsy but OK... the race there is one time a year you may wanna run for cover if you are living there to get away from it all. Look into Tallahassee or Gainesville areas... noth are mid sized cities that are mid state.
  2. Melbourne, Florida is good.
  3. Might want to try the Mt. Dora area, near Orlando. You might also check out the Gainesville area too. I live in St. Pete-Clearwater area, and travel to Gainesville and Mt. Dora when we want to get away.
  4. lakewood ranch, out side of bradenton,35 miles south of tampa job # 1 in the usa
  5. Research Jackson County.........not big at all. But close to major cities, such as Panama City (45 minutes), Tallahassee (1 hour), and Dothan, AL (30 minutes). Never heard of Sebring.
