Where are the best places to fish in California?

Saltwater: San Diego for mulit day trips.- Tuna , dorado, etc Catalina - white sea bass, yellowtail, etc Channel Islands out of Ventura area - white sea bass are going off right now - 30-50lbs, halibut, rockfish, yellowtail Morrow Bay when the albacore are running San Franciso area when the salmon are running
3. Several record largemouth bass were pulled from Lake Castaic, Calif. Of the 11 world record bass, 5 were from Lake Castaic. A couple record bass have been pulled from Lake Miramar Calif. If I was in your shoes, I'd try one of these 2 lakes. Maybe you will get the next largest world record bass. The current record is 22lb 4oz, caught by George Perry, in 1932. Have fun and tight lines.
4. Depends what you are trying to catch? and what time of the year. Salmon/Steelhead - Oct - March, Klamath, Sacramento, American, Eel and Navarro rivers are a good bet in N. CA Lake Fishing - Sonoma, Clearlake, whopper bass and catfish Ocean - Anywhere from Bodega Bay up to Fort Bragg either of the rocks or on a boat.
