Where are the best places to go freshwater fishing in Southern California?

I am looking for good places to go freshwater fishing in the Riverside, San Diego, and Orange County area.

2. In Orange County without a doubt it'd be Irvine Lake. Has a large variety of different species of fish~ Catfish, Trout, Bass just ta' name a few. 3. Good question . I live in the western LA> area near the beach and I'm getting tired of ocean fishing .I am new to the area .Iv been here three years and have been scoping out the fresh water .Most are "Pay Lakes " . Lake Irvine has the best reputation .Large cats . I plan to go there definitely .
